DEFRA (Department for Environmental Food & Rural Affairs) approved stoves are appliances that have been cleared to burn authorised fuels in smoke controlled areas across the UK. If an appliance is not listed as an exempt appliance and you are in a smoke controlled area, you are forbidden from burning wood. Find out if you are in a smoke controlled zone here.
